Subject: Merdeka Day

Merdeka Day is actually a platform where we created to allow the kids to take part in loving their country, Malaysia in a more practical and alert way.

At times, kids might think that Malaysia is so big and so wide, it is most likely they could not take part in helping out since most of the events and campaigns nowadays has been focused onto adults only. We hope that through Merdeka day, we are able to raise ascertain awareness that even thou they are still young, they are still able to take part in loving their country. To start of with to love their friends, neighbors and etc...

Things that might be cover during the event:

  • We will attempt to make Eaglepoint's biggest Malaysian flag where the kids will be asked to color the entire flag with their thumb prints. after all the coloring, then we shall hang the flag on the wall. This is mainly create a team spirit between the kids regardless which races they are from or what language they speak; but when they work together, there are more opportunities and possibilities that they could make a difference in where they are right now..coz a lot of times, kids would always think they are alone in everything they do but in fact there are a lot more kids out there that has the same mentality as them.

  • Games (has yet to be confirmed but most likely will tied up with the team of the event. TEAMWORK)

  • ONE MALAYSIA :- the teachers will wear different nationality costumes and will then share one thing or challenge/issue that they face and how can the kids actually work together to make a difference. potentially they can start by loving their friends and maybe those that they find hard to love.

  • In conjunction to the 40 days prayer and fasting, we encouraged the kids to fast and pray for their country (through the NECF prayer booklet), on the day itself, we shall pray and ask God's provision for the country. well the kids will then take up ascertain responsibilities and burden that they feel they want to make a difference.

  • The main goal of this event is to allow/create a platform where the kids knows the raising issues that is happening in the country and to let the kids actually understand that even thou they are young and might not be able to do anything when they are alone but together as one they can make a difference.

The verse that we will look into:

Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness, and purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
